Who are the WRA?
The White Ribbon Alliance is a global movement, led by its members, who are:
• Women and men from all walks of life throughout the world, from midwives and doctors to teachers, journalists, politicians, artists and musicians!
• Thousands of organisations – UN groups like UNICEF and WHO; human rights groups like Amnesty; charities like Oxfam and Save the Children – all belong to WRAs in many countries.
• Organised into National Alliances – formally set up in 15 countries. WRA members in countries without National Alliances work together and with the Global Secretariat, and some are in the process of forming National Alliances.
• Supported by a small team split between London and Washington DC, and led by the
membership. They are the people who know what the problems are in developing countries – and how to fix them.
